we buy more processed food than anything else. that’s because the cost of meat is really low, and we have shifted our extra cash into processed foods. more consumption of meat and processed foods, fueled mostly by the cheap commodity crops of corn and soy.  hmm, does this have anything to do with the fact that 2/3 of americans are obese? i’d hazard a guess at DUH.  motherjones: Processed food is more popular than ever.
